What Happens When You Dispute an Order

Understand how bank disputes (chargebacks) affect your tickets, account access, and future purchases on Tixr.

About Disputes

A dispute (also called a chargeback) is when you ask your bank to reverse a charge you believe is unauthorized. While it may seem like a quick way to get a refund, disputing a Tixr order has serious, permanent consequences for your tickets and your Tixr account.

Important: Disputes are fraud-protection tools, not refund shortcuts. If you dispute a Tixr charge, your order is canceled and your account is frozen.

What Happens When You Dispute an Order

  • The order is automatically canceled in Tixr.

  • All tickets in that order are voided and won’t be valid for entry.

  • Your Tixr account is permanently frozen to prevent future purchases.

  • Even if your bank denies the dispute (no refund issued), Tixr cannot reinstate your order or tickets.

Heads up: Once canceled due to a dispute, tickets can’t be reactivated. If tickets are still on sale, you would need to purchase again at full price.

What To Do Instead of Disputing

If you can’t attend or need help with your order, try these options first (availability varies by event):

Note: If you don’t see Resale or Transfers, those features may not be available for your event.

If You Already Filed a Dispute

  • Expect your order to remain canceled and your tickets voided.

  • Watch for updates from your bank - they control the outcome and timeline.

  • You won’t be able to use your frozen Tixr account for future purchases.

Important: Tixr cannot intervene or issue refunds once a dispute is opened with your bank.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I dispute a charge to get a refund for tickets I don’t want?

No. Disputes are for suspected fraud only.

  2. I disputed an order but my bank didn’t refund me. Can Tixr refund me now?

No. After a dispute is filed, only your bank can resolve it. Tixr can’t reinstate or refund that order.

  3. Can my tickets be reinstated after a dispute?

No. Once an order is canceled, the tickets are released and can’t be restored. If available, you’d need to repurchase.

  4. My Tixr account was frozen after a past dispute. Can I use it again?

No. Accounts involved in disputes are permanently frozen.

  5. How can I avoid disputes in the future?

    • Review the event’s refund policy before purchasing.

    • Double-check your order details before paying.

    • If a charge looks unfamiliar, first check Orders in your Tixr Account and your email receipts. If you still have concerns, contact your bank about fraud without entering the event - do not dispute to seek a standard refund.
