Managing linked accounts and passwords on Tixr

Learn how to link or unlink third-party sign-in providers and create a Tixr password for your account.

Updated yesterday

Your Tixr account can connect to multiple sign-in methods, giving you flexibility in how you access your tickets and orders. You can add or remove Apple, Google, and Facebook sign-in, or create a traditional email and password login.

Adding a Tixr password to your account

If you signed up using Apple, Google, or Facebook, you don't have a Tixr password by default. Adding one gives you an alternative way to sign in that doesn't require a third-party provider.

To create a Tixr password:

  1. Sign in to your account using your current method

  2. Go to AccountProfile

  3. Select Create Password

  4. Enter your new password and confirm it

  5. Select Save

You can now sign in using your email and password on any device or platform.

Tip: Create a password before traveling or if you're concerned about losing access to your third-party provider. This ensures you always have a backup sign-in method.

Linking additional third-party providers

Tixr automatically links a third-party provider when you use it to sign in. No additional steps are needed.

To add another provider to your account:

  1. Sign in to Tixr using your current method

  2. Sign out of your account

  3. Select Continue with Apple, Continue with Google, or Continue with Facebook (whichever you want to add)

  4. Follow the prompts to authorize Tixr

If the email from your new provider matches your existing Tixr account email, both providers will be linked to the same account. You can now use either method to sign in.

What happens behind the scenes:

  • Your orders stay connected when provider emails match

  • Tixr uses a secure ID to maintain the connection even if you change your provider email

  • You can sign in with any linked provider interchangeably

Unlinking third-party providers

You can remove a third-party sign-in method from your account anytime. This is useful if you want to stop using that provider or switch to a different sign-in method.

Important: You must create a Tixr password before unlinking your last third-party provider. This prevents you from losing access to your account.

To unlink a provider:

  1. Go to AccountSettingsLinked Accounts

  2. Select Unlink Apple, Unlink Google, or Unlink Facebook

  3. If prompted, create a Tixr password to keep access to your account

  4. Confirm you want to unlink

Once unlinked, you'll need to use a different sign-in method to access your account. You can re-link the same provider later by signing in with it again.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Why would I need to unlink a third-party provider?

Most fans never need to unlink providers. You might want to if you're switching to a different email address, no longer use that provider, or prefer to sign in with email and password instead.

  2. Can I unlink all third-party providers and only use email and password?

Yes. Create a Tixr password first, then unlink each provider under AccountSettingsLinked Accounts. You'll sign in with your email and password going forward.

  3. I can't unlink my provider. What's wrong?

You need to create a Tixr password before unlinking. Go to AccountProfile and select Create Password. Once you've created a password, you'll be able to unlink providers.

  4. Will unlinking affect my orders or tickets?

No. Your orders, tickets, payment plans, and account details stay exactly the same. Only your sign-in method changes.

  5. Can I re-link a provider after unlinking it?

Yes. Sign out of your account, then select Continue with Apple, Continue with Google, or Continue with Facebook on the login screen. Follow the prompts to re-link the provider to your account.

  6. What if I have multiple Tixr accounts with different providers?

If you accidentally created multiple accounts using different email addresses, these cannot be merged automatically. Contact Tixr support for help consolidating your accounts.

  7. Do I need to remember which provider I used to sign up?

No. Once you've linked multiple providers or created a password, you can use any of these methods to sign in. Tixr recognizes all linked sign-in methods for your account.
