How To Select And Purchase Reserved Seats

Learn how to choose your own seats for events with reserved seating using the Tixr seat map.

Updated over 2 months ago

Some venues - like clubs, theaters, and arenas - offer reserved seating, allowing you to pick your seats during checkout.

Tixr can automatically assign the best available seats, but you should always review and manually select your preferred seats before completing your purchase.

Understanding the Seat Map

The seat map shows the full layout of the venue and uses color-coded dots to indicate seat availability:

  • Colored dots: Available seats

  • Gray dots: Seats already purchased

  • ♿ or ADA seats: Accessible seating for guests with disabilities

Levels, sections, and rows are clearly labeled on the map.

Note: The "Best Available" tool prioritizes the best view, not keeping your group together.

Steps to Select Reserved Seats Manually

Step 1. Visit the event page and scroll down to the ticket selection area.

Step 2. Click the blue + icon next to your preferred ticket type to add it to your cart.

Step 3. Click Find Best Available in Zone at the bottom right of the screen.

Step 4. Review the automatically selected seats, shown with check marks on the dots.

Step 5. To manually change seats:

  • Click any other available dot that matches your ticket type.

  • The selected dot will become active.

Step 6. When satisfied with your choices, click Checkout to complete your purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I change seats after I complete my order?

No. Once your order is complete, seat selections are final. Double-check your seating before you check out.

  2. I selected two seats, but they’re not together — what happened?

Tixr’s system prioritizes view over proximity. You can always manually click new seats on the map to select seats side-by-side.

  3. What does the ♿ icon mean?

It designates accessible seating for guests with disabilities. Only select these if you or someone in your party requires ADA accommodations.
