How to return a ticket that was transferred to you

Learn how to return a transferred ticket to the original sender through your Tixr account.

If someone sent you a ticket but you can’t attend the event, you can easily return If someone sent you a ticket but you can't attend the event, you can return the ticket to the original sender. Once returned, the ticket is removed from your Wallet and becomes available again to the original owner.

Heads up: You can only return tickets that were transferred to you. Tickets you purchased directly cannot be returned this way.

Returning a transferred ticket

  1. Log in to your Tixr account.

  2. Access your Wallet:

    • On web browser: Click your initials in the upper right corner, then select Wallet from the dropdown menu.

    • On mobile app: Tap Wallet in the bottom menu.

  3. Find the event and order that includes the transferred ticket you want to return.

  4. Click Order Details.

  5. Tap or click Return Item from the details page.

  6. Confirm the return to send the ticket back to the original owner.

Returning a transferred ticket is final. You will no longer have access once the return is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why don't I see the "Return Item" option?

    Only tickets that were transferred to you can be returned. If the ticket was purchased directly or is part of a package, the Return Item button will not appear. Make sure you are viewing the event on the same account where the transfer was accepted.

  2. Can I return a ticket after the event starts?

    No. Once the event has begun, transfers and returns are locked and can no longer be processed.

  3. What happens after I return the ticket?

    The original sender will see the ticket reappear in their Wallet immediately. You will no longer have access to it or be able to reaccept it unless they send a new transfer.

  4. Can I return just one ticket from a multi-ticket order?

    Yes, as long as each ticket was transferred individually. You can return specific tickets without affecting other tickets in the same order.

  5. Will I receive a refund when I return a transferred ticket?

    No. Returning a transferred ticket sends it back to the original purchaser. Since you did not pay for the ticket, no refund is issued. Only the original purchaser can request a refund if the event allows it.

  6. What if I accidentally returned the wrong ticket?

    Contact the original sender and ask them to transfer it back to you. Once a ticket is returned, you cannot undo the action yourself.
